WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
- Introduction – Outline of workshop content and objectives.
- Understanding our atmosphere – What’s in the air? Management of the working atmosphere. The need for ventilation.
- Fuel gases and flammability – Hazards posed when handling fuel gases. Flammability ranges. Properties of propane.
- Safe operation of propane cylinders – Design and function of propane cylinders and valves. Do’s and don’ts with propane cylinders. Cylinder identification. Using LPG propane cylinders safely.
- Safe handling of propane cylinders – Do’s and Don’ts when moving propane cylinders. Personal protective equipment.
- Safe storage of propane cylinders – Key principles in storing LPG propane gas cylinders safely; includes design, construction, location, segregation and emergency procedures.
- Workshop demonstration session – The demonstration will cover:
- Visual checks on the regulator.
- Correct fitting of the regulator.
- Visual checks on the hose.
- Correct fitting of the hose to the system.
- Opening propane cylinder valves
- Setting correct working pressures.
- Correct leak test procedures prior to use.
- Closing the cylinder valve and safely releasing the residual pressure.
WHO IS THE TRAINING FOR?
This training workshop is designed for people who use LPG propane cylinders and associated equipment only.
It consists of safety awareness theory plus a practical demonstration by our trainer of how to correctly set-up and leak-test an LPG gas cylinder system.
PRICING
The price is £1125.00 for up to 6 staff inclusive of certification and support documentation. Additional staff are £80.00 per head, up to a maximum of 12 staff. VAT is payable at the standard rate.
