Industrial environmentsGas Safety in Industrial Environments

Our standard range of Safety Awareness Workshops for users of cylinder gases in industrial environments – often simply referred to as “Industrial Gases” – give participants a firm understanding of the key safety issues associated with the handling, storage and use of cylinder gases within industrial environments. The workshops develop risk awareness through the identification of hazards found in everyday situations and participants will learn about the gas safety issues relative to their specific roles, together with the steps required to maintain safe working conditions.

An understanding of hazards and the ability to assess risks within industry is vital in today’s Health and Safety conscious workplace, these workshops help to develop these critical skills as well as helping staff to improve their knowledge and awareness of the compressed gases used within their particular working environment.

Industrial Gases Safety Awareness (click for more info)

Industrial gases safety awarenessThis 3½ hour workshop is designed for all personnel who are involved in either the handling, storage or use of industrial compressed gas cylinders. It is our most popular standard workshop, accounting for approximately 50% of our bookings and forms the foundation for two related practical workshops:

Oxy-Fuel Gas Systems Set-up and Pre-use Check
, a two hour workshop which gives delegates the opportunity to learn how to correctly set-up an oxy-fuel workstation in a practical environment and
Oxy-fuel Gas Systems Maintenance Inspection, a three hour workshop which gives delegates the opportunity to learn how to correctly set-up an oxy-fuel workstation and inspect it in a practical environment, in accordance with British Compressed Gases Association Code of Practice 7.

Please see below for information on other options regarding safety awareness training relating to industrial gases.

Welding / Shielding Gases Safety Awareness (click for more info)

Welding shielding gasesThis 3½ hour workshop is designed for personnel who use industrial gases for either MIG (GMAW) or TIG (GTAW) welding. It is similar to the Industrial Gases Safety Awareness workshop but adapted to focus on the properties, hazards and risks associated with the gases used in these processes.

This workshop forms the foundation for two related practical workshops, our Connecting Regulators & Cylinder Set-up workshop or our Connecting Regulators & Maintenance Inspection workshop.

LPG/ Propane Gases Safety Awareness (click for more info)

LPG Propane gasesThis 3 hour workshop is designed for anyone who uses LPG (Propane / Butane) in an industrial environment. It is a similar to the Industrial Gases Safety Awareness workshop but adapted to focus on the properties, hazards and risks associated with Liquid Petroleum gases only.

This workshop forms the foundation for two related practical workshops, our Connecting Regulators & Cylinder Set-up workshop or our Connecting Regulators & Maintenance Inspection workshop.

Industrial Gases Safety for Refrigeration Engineers (click for more info)

Refrigeration gasesThis 4 hour workshop is designed for anyone using, handling, storing or transporting industrial gas cylinders such as oxygen, acetylene or propane in the refrigeration industry. It is similar to our Industrial Gases Safety Awareness Workshop but extended to focus on the properties, hazards and risks associated with the industrial gases used by refrigeration engineers. This workshop forms the foundation for two related practical workshops; our Oxy-Fuel Gas Systems Set-up and Pre-use Check workshop or our Oxy-fuel Gas Systems Maintenance Inspection workshop.
