Leeds-Bradford commuter route reopens after cylinder fire fears UPDATED

Leeds Old Road has reopened again in both directions after a fire broke out at a garage containing gas cylinders at Thornbury, Bradford.

Cordons around Woodhall Terrace - where the garage blaze is located - have also been reduced, a West Yorkshire Fire spokesman has confirmed.

More than 60 homes were evacuated amid concerns the blaze that broke out on Wednesday, April 25, could spread to nearby acetylene cylinders.

Residents living within 200m of the blaze were told to leave their homes.

Firefighters remain at the scene.

West Yorkshire Police have said a 200m cordon is expected to be in place until 4pm today (Thursday).
